Slam Dunk!

What's up with you all!

So it looks like the field really is white here in the Whitefield Ward! The highlight for the week was being blessed with a miracle of having TWO wonderful baptisms! Our investigators Sindhu and Swathi are two young sisters living in our area. They've been investigating the church for several months and coming just about every Sunday. We've been working closely to help them learn everything and especially making sure that their parents are okay with them learning and eventually being baptized. They have always said that it would be a good thing for their daughters to do. They were supposed to be baptized last Sunday (The 5th) so we went the day before to have their father sign the permission form. Right when we pulled the form out, he suddenly decided that he needed to ask permission from his Catholic mother and her pastor! Bad idea brother! The baptism ended up being postponed. We were pretty devastated and continued to visit them a few  times last week to try and work with their father but didn't get anywhere. We lost some of our hope for them to be baptized in the near future but kept a goal of two baptisms during our planning and then prayed A LOT! On Saturday night, we took the help of Brother Edwin from our bishopric. He talked with their parents in a native language for a while and brother decided that it would be fine for his daughters to be baptized. BOOYAH! We could tell that the parents had a change of heart and felt really good about the decision. Sindhu and Swathi were more excited than ever to get baptized. Yesterday, we had the baptism service and they were both DUNKED!  The Lord works in many amazing ways. I'm so grateful to take part in this work. Words can't explain the feelings I have when these people decide that they are ready to enter into a covenant with God and be baptized. It's just so cool.

This week we had the chance to go to one of my favorite Indian restaurants called Shreedevi. This exquisite cuisine is called veg meals. It consists of flavored rice, curd, gulab jammun, sambar, some yellow stuff that I don't know the name of, russom, chutney, aloo curry, paneer curry, dahl, popard, and white rice all served on a banana leaf and eaten with the hand. This meal is delicious, affordable, satisfying, and mostly unlimited.

Saw this sign at the metro station. If you look closely, it says "no crackers allowed." I guess Elder Ball and I are not allowed to board the train!

Sindhu and Swathi's baptism! Their father Lordhu came for this special event. Next to Elder Ball is Sister Babitha and Sister Preethi. Preethi is a recent convert that has given incredible fellowship and support to Sindhu and Swathi. Babitha (Preethi's mother) is also preparing to be baptized soon.
