The Day Has Arrived

We started our final day with a family temple trip to do Baptisms for the Dead at the Bountiful Temple.  After we came home we ate pancakes, had a family prayer and loaded up the van.  We made a quick stop at the bank to order a new debit card and then hit the road for Provo.  We stopped for lunch at Outback Steakhouse assuming that this would be one of Kent's last chances to eat red meat for a while.  After lunch we drove to the Provo temple and took some pictures and enjoyed our last few moments together.  When we drove up to the MTC we were greeted by a very nice senior missionary directing traffic.  We pulled up to the curb and were met by a young missionary who helped with the luggage and a senior sister who shed a few tears with us and brought a little humor to the moment.  We said our final goodbyes and then watched as Kent walked away down the sidewalk.  We got back in the van and drove home with tears in our eyes.  It was a hard but wonderful day full of mixed emotions and plenty of comfort from the Spirit.  The adventure has officially begun!
